Help for Pets & Livestock

Flooding can create serious challenges for families caring for animals, especially those who have been displaced or have limited access to food, shelter, and veterinary services.

Many organizations are working alongside Navajo Nation tribal leadership, emergency response teams, and local partners to help affected animals and the people who care for them.

Current response efforts include:

  • Delivering pet food and essential animal supplies.

  • Coordinating kennels, vaccines, and other resources for displaced pets.

  • Supporting emergency response operations and assessing animal welfare needs in affected communities.

  • Working with shelters and rescue organizations in New Mexico to assist evacuated animals.

  • Coordinating with Navajo Nation departments to address livestock needs, including hay and other supplies.
